Golden silky oak flowers make a lovely contrast on the skyline to the blue Jacaranda at this time of year. Grevillia's are usually a shrub but Silky Oak is a tall tree, native to the tropical rainforests of northern Australia but used extensively as a ornimental tree throughout the country. Like the Jacarada we only see them in the mid-lower mountains as further up is too cold for them.
