Theme day: Fences

Today is theme day so I am taking a short diversion from our current trip.

Over the years I've taken photos of dozens of fences because they are one of my recurring themes.  I decided to pick my favourite from each of my blogs.

Bluemountainsjournal: Web on fence post, Lawson (my home town)

Sweetwayfaring: Hill End, NSW.  There are lots of great fences in Hill End.

Burnbraejournal:  Old fencepost in my backyard.

Whistlersrest: Kookaburra on barbed wire fence (at our rural retreat)

What a superb collection! I cannot fault any of them. They are 'australiana' incarnate.

The last one in particular recalls a wonderful week in the Blue Mountains spent with a toddler more than 20 years ago.

I don't think I have seen that way of building fences around here. Strange how these little things differ.

I enjoyed seeing all of them...a diverse group. The photo with the bird is special!

Love that little kookaburra sitting on the barbed wire -- so sweet. Wonderful capture.

Oh what an absolute feast of super photography. Just love them all. Adore that kookaburra but the spider's web is absolutely perfection.

A great collection of fence shots! And a bonus kookaburra --- did you say that you couldn't take photos of birds? This one is exquisite.

Wonderful selection of fences Joan - I love them all starting at that gorgeous macro capture of a giant cobweb on a strainer post and ending with the most beautiful capture of kookaburra - so Australian.

Great group of fences. Much more interesting and appealing than something with a fresh coat of paint.

I love your selection of fences too. The one with the kookaburra and your 'mountain' in the background is lovely.
