I think everyone it getting a little tired that the King is proving so elusive. Here we have a guard standing tall - whew we have reached the gates of the palace! Grass Tree - Xanthorrhoea
Like a sentinal - is this the same as was commonly known as a blackboy? It has been an interesting walk to the palace with lots of little precious jewels along the path - I have enjoyed the journey.
Marvellous. Just letting you know about a couple of new Aussie bloggers: Nick at http://melbournedaily.blogspot.com/ Jo at http://aviewofsydney.blogspot.com/

Dianne, these are a variety of blackboy but they do not grow tall around here ... more like clumps of grass. Their flowers are however tall.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up Jim. I have visited the blogs today.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the inflorescense of the Agave attenuata. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow dumb of me! I did not realise they flowered like this ... but of course ...
