Looking for the King 7 - Blue Bloods

The blue bloods are gathering with their funny hats and some red blood for good measure -  yep we are getting closer.   Spade flowers - Hybanthus  monopetalus, Blue Dampiera, bloodwood (maybe)

I find the single petaled spade flowers quite intriguing in their oddness ... a bit like the fascination with Princess Beatrice's odd hat at the wedding.

Those spade flowers are quite exquisite with their delicate colourings and markings - little treasures nestled amid the bush.

Very pretty and odd too. One thing I would say in defence of Bea and the hat, it raised $130,000 for children's charities.

Lol, Bea's hat was rather striking, but I think the flower is prettier - I like the colour at least.

Those single petaled flower is so unusual. I have never seen one. The other one looks like one I saw in WA. So bring on the king!

I love these blue flowers, they are so sweet. I wonder if they smell nicely:)

Yes, it leaves me wondering what in their environment caused them to develop in this lop-sided way.

I thought the little blue flowers were quails - very nice!
