Scar

What a scar when the forest is harvested ... but they reveal lost vistas too.

  1. Total devastation, I agree. And I reckon even the soil is devastated and barren looking. HOwever ...

you have captured wonderful light in the distance here.

  2. Ah but the stubble field of any crop always looks a little forlorn until the new plants go in.

  3. It always pains when I see forest cut off, but the view is amazing!

  5. This somehow seems like it has been done with more respect than the torn, vandalized look of the ancient Tarkine forests of Tasmania that I saw. Glad that they will put new plants in. It is an amazing view. The Tarkine was just sad.

  6. I like the mood of this image. Different light in different places.

Clearfelling always looks pretty sad, but this looks like they did a very tidy job.

  8. Pam, the Tarkine is native forest isn't it. I would be horrified to see that done to native forest but for plantation forest I don't really mind ... after all that was the reason they were planted.
