We're starting a new trip today. I am going to take you on another scenic drive beyond the mountains. This time from Oberon to Abercrombie River National Park and back again. The area has beautiful park like grazing properties.
Ah ... now this is the sort of scenery that you and your camera revel in.
See that little rivulet there, curving away down through the paddock. If that is high enough up, and if it is brisk and the water fresh, that is the sort of rivulet that attracts platypus to burrow into its banks
Ahh ... I have only once. Once. Back in the late 50s my parents accidently befriended a couple who lived up in the hills outside Baerami Creek - sort of between Denman and Merriwa. Old Freddie took us out tramping one day to show us. Was pure magic.
relish the feeling of curves in this scene

Oh goodie. This is all new to me.
ReplyDeletePlatypus ... I've never seen them in the wild.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very pleasant scene, so different from the dramatic cliffs I think of when I remember the Blue Mountains. Looking forward to the tour!
