I think that they fetch much the same price as other real estate on initial sale. Once they have been done up they can fetch a premium but it all depends on whether there is a demand for fancy homes wherever it is located. An attractively renovated one at Tarana has been on the market for ages.
And of course many of them are still churches and not up for sale.
When he was younger, my brother always wanted to buy one of these to live in. I can see the attraction, but I bet they cost a fortune nowadays.
