Let love not fall from me

On Darwin's Walk, Wentworth Falls

Words to walk with:
From Prayer by Judith Wright
"Let love not fall from me though I must grow old
To see the words fade on the fading page,
to fell the skin numbing in fold on fold,
the mind and the heart forgetting their holy rage --

oh no, let me run, to the winds agues blow
my cinders red again -- let me tilt and drain
the last drop of my life before I go,
Let the earth's choirs and messengers not sing in vain."

  1. Interesting poem, keeping in mind the poet and Nugget.

What an outrage to score a pathetic heart like that upon something so much more beautiful ... even if it is the day of Saint Valentine.

    Bah! Humbug!

  2. The tree can wear love's token proudly. It has borne worse. And Happy Valentine's Day to you Joan Elizabeth. You have a very nice blog.

  3. Gorgeous photo, Jean Elizabeth, though I'm with Julie when it comes to defacing trees. No excuses. :(

  4. Oops... typo. I meant Joan not Jean.

  5. Happy Valentine's Day, Joan Elizabeth. I think that heart is well placed (trees have big hearts I think). It's really beautiful and I would like to see what it looks like a year or so from now.

  6. I like the poem and the photo is superb, but I'm not sure if hurting trees is the best way to express love!
    Happy Valentine's Day:)
