Last look

I took one last look from above the falls to the valley beyond before beginning the climb back to the top. That finishes this walk. I'll be back in a couple of weeks with another one. In the meanwhile, a new adventure in the central west begins on Sweet Wayfaring today -- I hope you will join me over there.

Words to walk with:
From Deep Pass Gorge by Mark O'Conner
" ... the slow stone mason
whose chisel carves round ponds.
One day the mountains of time will fall,
leaving a world of rubble
on which new streams will work."

  1. Thank you, JE. A beautiful journey with such lovely poetry, just lovely.

  2. Thanks for all the beautiful photos, Joan. Looks like it's time for me to do this walk again.

  3. Always sublime views...and not only from Sublime Point!
SDP has had a 3rd birthday and you're invited to the party!

  4. Quite breath-taking really ...

I love the way you are using your blogs at the moment and really enjoy the travelogue method of posting.

I shall have to follow up on Mark Conner.

  5. And what a look! Fantastic!

  6. Thanks for your kind birthday wishes. And yep the Kokoda Track walk is well worth a visit - the cafe has nice home cooked food too! I had a delicious chicken and vegetable soup. With 2 slices of multigrain bread.

  7. I was lucky enough to spend a few days with friends in Katoomba in 2003, and did some hiking along quite a few of the Blue Mountain trails, I loved it! Such fabulous scenery. And we saw the sunset at the Three Sisters, just gorgeous. I'll be back one day, I hope.
