The bottom of Furber Steps

Furber Steps descends 400 metres by lots and lots and lots of steps – many of these were hewn from the cliff in the early 1900s. See the interesting historic photo at infobluemountains.net.au.

You may be wondering why I have been so cheery about all these stairs. The answer is because this is a rare case where there is a lift back to the top via the Scenic Railway.

Words to walk with:
From Proverbs 16 in the Holy Bible New International Version
“In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps.”
