Rustic character always stirs up a touch of romance and dream! This looks wonderful but my practical side needs the comfort of reliable heating in chilly weather!
Oo ... what I wouldn't give to have that old bath as a centrepiece in a garden ... so long as the plug hole was still open for drainage. As for batheing out there, perhaps not!
This shot reminded me of a story my Mum used to tell, when they were first married they lived in a cottage on the family farm. There as no bathroom so Dad used to bathe in the horse trough. Mum would not have a bar of it, she chose to sponge bath inside.
Letty I would love to have a little cottage like that at the Rest but sadly it will be just like a suburban garage and take longer than I will live to get rustic.
Dream cottage in the country with room for expansion - ensuite bath in tranquil surrounds and established fruit trees - Don't you just love the rust!
ReplyDeleteMaybe very occasionally. Hygiene habits in the good old days were a bit questionable, weren't they?
