It's like the last walk -- banksia and wattle in flower, dry first then going down to the rain forest. But it won't be long, I can already hear the water falling.
I love the smell of wattle. There is some in our street, but I haven't noticed it in flower yet. I live surrounded by bush, but am not allowed to venture down. It is too steep for me, and I would never get back.
The bigger showy varieties tend to flower a bit later I think. These are very small shrub like ones that grow in the understory and flower in the winter time.
I live surrounded by bush and do not visit it often enough. Something I am endeavouring to fix as it is so soothing and healing to walk in the bush.
Both flowers are looking great there. I like how Aussie plants are all so spiky.
ReplyDeleteSpikey is an acquired taste I think … but like you it is one I have certainly acquired.
