At home for ever


In times past families often buried their loved ones on the property.

This is a repost to participate in  Taphophile Tragics visit there for more graveyard and cemetery images.  The variety is amazing.

  1. But, to me, they do not seem lonely. They have the cows to close crop soome of the grass. They are beside a winding dirt track. Would that I could be this lonely.

  11. I stand by my original comments: would that I could be so lonely in eternity.

    I guess it is only since the growth of large cities that mankind has resorted to the concept of large-scale cemeteries. Prior to that, as you say, buried on the family property, or, indeed, in the nearby churchyard, making it a graveyard. No I KNOW you have a stock of such images in your larder. Trot 'em out.

    I am glad you are enjoying the amazing variety in the contributions to Taphophile Tragics. The interest is truly gratifying, and the enthusiasm likewise. Thank you for your part in this.
