The sculpture is by Nick Dorrer. A local Blue Mountains artist now moved to Melbourne. It is one of a series of sandstone sculptures representing the seedpods of native plants in the area is placed in the woodland and along the shore. These were created by a different artists as part of the Wentworth Falls Lake Sculpture Project c.1998-1999, organised by Gabriella Hegyes. Nicks work is of the Juncus usitatus (Common Rush). Works were carved in situ. A fantastic lace to wor as this wonderful photograph shows!

ReplyDeleteThe B&W gives me the feeling that his waterway is in drought. My head tells me this is probably not the case.
