Fire

Despite the elaborate preparations it seems this campfire wouldn't burn.  We're back among civilisation and the end of this walk.

  1. As long as you weren't desperate for a cuppa of course, it still made for a great photo ;-)

  5. Well ... without wanting to state the bleeding obvious ... well not much anyways ... the kindling was wet, the soil was sodden and the makings had no heart ... surely you had a few pages of a Sundy Tele to scrunch up and shove down there.

Um ... did you have matches?

  6. Julie, it's not my fire! I just found it there as I walked past.

I have a home to go to where it is warm because the wood is dry, newspapers, firelighters and matches to hand and none of that elaborite setting up needed either.

  7. This brought back memories of camp fires that didn't burn - everyone had an opinion as to the reason why!
