The view

This is the view from the lookout. It's lovely, but there is no fun staying at the top. We headed down the track towards the falls.

  1. It is entirely gorgeous, Joan. I have no problem with heading off down the track: just with the coming back up the track!

  2. You are soooo right. I thought my planned destination wasn't far down but it was so it was huff and puff all the way back up.

I'd love to do the new refurbished National Pass track at Wentworth Falls but it is Grade Hard. Given my state after Grade Medium I think I will have to give it a miss until I harden up.

  3. Spectacular scenery! I would love to go tracking there.

  4. Hi Joan, I really love your blogs, but especially this one because it feels as if I can bushwalk the Blue Mountains every day, even when I'm stuck in Sydney! Looking forward to more posts on Wenty Falls.

  5. I can't wait until we're done renovating this house so we can have some weekend adventures. You have such a rich life, JE.

And there is something about reaching the top and wanting to head back down. Why is that?

  6. PJ, the interesting thing about the geography here is that the mountains are more of less a plateau with deep valleys cut into it. The towns are on top of the plateau and the wilderness is in the valleys. Hence all of the walks start at the top with the great views but to reach the waterfalls and rainforest you have to walk down ... the big problem is that having had the exhiliarating experience in the forest you have a great big climb to reach the top again to go home.
